About Us

 Steve Bovee is an experienced, licensed general contractor who has been building homes in Albuquerque, NM and the surrounding areas for over two decades.   Steve’s passion for building was ignited when he was a young boy working alongside his father remodeling houses in Portland, OR.  Steve took that deep-rooted passion for building that he developed as a boy and started his own framing business in Albuquerque in 1994.  After many years of constructing houses from the ground up with his own hands, Steve was hired to work as the Superintendent  for Rutledge Homes, a well-respected, award-winning custom home builder in Albuquerque.    As Superintendent for Rutledge Homes, Steve enhanced his construction management skills and became an expert in all phases of home construction.  From 1999 to 2010, Steve supervised the construction of over one hundred twenty high-end luxury homes in Albuquerque for Rutledge Homes. 

In 2010 Steve left Rutledge Homes in order to pursue his own vision for a custom home building and remodeling company with Bovee Construction .   Steve has built his home construction business on the guiding principles of honesty,  integrity, and quality.   Honesty and integrity are the key ingredients for developing trusting relationships with customers.  It’s simply a case of just “doing the right thing” and communicating honestly and openly with customers.  If you do business with Bovee Construction, you can count on your project being completed on time with no hidden costs or cutting corners to save time or money.

In addition to adhering to principles of honesty and integrity, Steve is dedicated to upholding the highest level of quality in workmanship.  Throughout his many years of experience in the construction industry, Steve has assembled a strong team of highly skilled craftsmen who meet his high standards for quality.  With this focus on superior quality, Steve is on the job site every day to scrutinize the details of each home or remodeling project, as if it were his own.   Steve’s commitment to quality and his endearing “can-do” attitude are the reasons why a large portion of our clients are repeat customers and the majority of Bovee Construction’s business comes from referrals.
